The 18th Annual Robin Hood Festival
Monday 29th July - Sunday 4th August 2002
Sunshine, showers and large crowds greeted visitors from around the world who flocked to this years Robin Hood festival in Sherwood Forest. This was the 18th time this celebration of our world-famous outlaw has been held, taking enthusiasts of all ages back in time to medieval Sherwood.
The fun-packed programme included jugglers, jesters, strolling minstrels, street theatre performers, archers and medieval knights.
Once again, one of the highlights of the Festival was jesting and juggling duo What A Palaver who entertained in their own inimitable style throughout the week.
The daring exploits of re-enactment group Legends thrilled the crowd as they recreated the daring exploits of Robin Hood and the Sherrif's men with live action skirmishes as well as the exciting jousting spectaculars over the final weekend.
Next year's festival will take place from 28th July - 3rd August 2003.
