The 24th Annual Robin Hood Festival

Monday 28th July - Sunday 3rd August 2008

The annual Robin Hood Festival held at Sherwood Forest Country Park near Edwinstowe attracted more than 70,000 visitors this year.

It ran from Monday until Sunday, with attractions including costumed entertainers, jugglers and street theatre performers.

Manager Izi Banton said visitor numbers were down on Thursday due to heavy showers, but added: "Once again, the festival proved to be extremely popular this year with visitors from all over the world. It goes to show that the Robin Hood legend is still alive and well and where it should be - here in the heart of Sherwood Forest."
