The 11th Annual Robin Hood Pageant

27th October to 29th October 2000

Despite the inclement weather, many people still paid a visit to this year's Robin Hood Pageant, where Nottingham Castle is transformed for the annual celebration of the life and times of Robin Hood.

Included on this year's bill were Nottinghamshire's very own Robin Hood Minstrels, The Singing Plague Victims, Wynnde Bagge the Piper, Regia Angolorum re-enactment group, The Forest Bowmen, The Nottingham Jousting Association and the excellent Spirit of England re-enactment group.
The three-day programme of events included jugglers, jesters, strolling minstrels, street theatre performers, archers and medieval knights. The ever popular medieval village was brought to life with historical characters and traditional crafts people.

The Medieval Maniax were on hand to bring their own unique comic look to the re-enactment of medieval tales.

One of the highlights of the Pageant was the displays of medieval combat skills and jousting by the Nottingham Jousting Association.

Ever popular re-enactment group The Spirit of England indulge in a spot of medieval mayhem.

Despite the sometimes wild and windy weather, visitors were treated to another enjoyable and well designed Robin Hood Pageant in the grounds of Nottingham Castle. We'll bring you full details of next year's event as soon as we have them.
